PL6 Learning Hub Referral Process At PL6 Learning Hub, we follow a structured referral process to ensure that each young person receives the right support. Below is an outline of our four-stage process:
Initial Inquiry & AssessmentThe referral process begins when a school, parent, or carer contacts us with an inquiry. We will discuss the young person's needs and conduct an initial assessment to determine whether our provision is a suitable fit.
A Chance to Visit & DiscussionIf PL6 Learning Hub appears to be a suitable option, we will arrange a visit at a mutually convenient time. This visit provides an opportunity to explore the Hub and learn more about what we have to offer. We encourage parents or carers to bring the young person along so they can see the environment and get a feel for whether it is the right place for them. During the visit, we will discuss how sessions are organised in more detail, as well as our expectations for engagement and behaviour.
Package ConfirmationFollowing the visit, we will provide feedback and confirm whether we can offer a placement. We will outline the details of the tailored support package and discuss any necessary arrangements, including funding. We encourage open conversations with the young person about whether they feel PL6 Learning Hub is the right fit for them. We ask for a decision at the earliest opportunity.
Successful Placement
Once all parties agree to proceed, we will send out the referral paperwork for completion. Once the necessary documents are returned, we can often begin the placement within a week. We specialise in small-group and personalised learning for young people and adults who benefit from a calm, supportive environment, including learners with anxiety, SEND, EBSA, those who are home educated, and learners who have experienced disrupted educational journeys.
Our experienced team combines expert teaching, innovative learning technology and a child-first approach to help every learner develop confidence, independence and essential English and Mathematics skills. We offer nationally recognised Functional Skills qualifications from Entry Level 1, Entry Level 2, Entry Level 3, Level 1 and Level 2, providing clear and achievable progression pathways tailored to each learner's individual needs.
As an approved Functional Skills examination centre, PL6 Learning Hub offers both tuition and examination opportunities in one familiar setting, helping to reduce anxiety, build confidence and maximise success. Our qualifications are widely recognised by colleges, apprenticeship providers and employers, opening doors to further education, training and employment.
